Today’s Bacon

Today’s quote of the day comes from Sir Francis Bacon:

Philosopher. statesman, and 1st Viscount St Albans.

Today's bacon
Excerpted from Wikipedia: Francis Bacon served as Lord Chancellor of England and remained influential through the later stages of the scientific revolution. Known as the father of empiricism, he argued for the possibility of scientific knowledge based only upon inductive reasoning and careful observation of events in nature. Most importantly in Bacon’s view, science can best be achieved by the use of a skeptical and methodical approach whereby scientists aim to avoid misleading themselves. He had no heirs, so both his titles became extinct upon his death in 1626 at the age of 65. He died of pneumonia, with one account stating that he contracted it while studying the effects of freezing on meat preservation.

Oopsie.

Scientific methodology or no, that’s gotta hurt.

Shoulda worn long underwear, I guess.

NOTE TO SELF:

Always wear warm mittens while handling Today’s Bacon.

Ah well.

So sorry, Sir Francis.

Small consolation, I know, but…

Better luck next time!
