Bevy of Bikers

Although the sign warned of mountain lion activity between Lair o’the Bear and Corwina Park this morning, none were spotted. There was, however, the usual bevy of bikers on Bear Creek Trail. In my lifetime I have sighted only a handful of mountain lions on trails, but never any close enough that I had to “make myself big and loud,” let alone to “fight back.” A bevy of bikers, on the other hand, is unlikely to be scared off by such tactics. And of those, I have seen literally thousands. Pick your poison I guess.

Bevy of bikers but no mountain lions. Ah well.

At the all-stone picnic pavillion, which do you prefer:

The view looking out or the one looking in?

Outside looking in.
Inside looking out.

Prior Corwina Park post is here. The stone masons who built Dunafon Castle had some extra time and materials on hand, that’s my guess. What other reason for the world’s most heavily fortified stone picnic pavillion? See also here and here.
