As you may know, zucchini grow quickly. One season, my brother missed a ripe zucchini under the leaves in his garden, and by the time we found it, it was about 18 inches long, as big around as my thigh (I was 12 at the time), and highly inedible. So I ceremonially laid it in the middle of the dirt lane that served as our driveway and ran it over with our biggest John Deere tractor. Utterly smooshed. Some people have roadkill. I had vegetable kill.
