Fourth of July weekend is fast upon us. And you know what that means. NO, No, no, not the birth of the Republic. How about baseball? Nothing more quintessentially American than Abner Doubleday’s favorite pastime, right? (Nope, the Rockies really suck big time this year.) Not fireworks either, because in our neighborhood – what with the fire danger and all – that will earn you an HOA fine. But in fact what it means for many – sorry vegan friends – is fresh meat grilled to smoky perfection. What could be tastier – not to mention more ecologically sustainable – than locally sourced, grass-fed chicken or steak? I mean, c’mon: Mom’s apple pie is one thing. But when it comes to 4th of July culinary celebration – as well as patriotic good taste – nothing beats fresh burgers, brats, or baby backs hot off the barbie. So what are you waiting for? Fire up that grill and let’s get cooking!
